A Note from Gravel Travel:
The Trans Canada Adventure Trail goes from Newfoundland to British Columbia. Our section is called “the mountains” specifically Region 6 – The Cariboo.
Suitable for off road vehicles like dual sport motorbikes.
The BC section is off paved roads as much as possible and is a scenic look at BC’s historic and cultural past. It passes through 7 regions of the province: Kootenays, Boundary, Okanagan, Shuswap, Cariboo, Chilcotin and Coastal Mountains.
In order to keep the desired “off the beaten path” feeling larger communities have been deliberately avoided. The trail passes through small towns and villages which will serve as service and supply centers for the route.
The BC section should take about 7 days with a total distance of approx. 3500 km. The best time to experience this route is mid July to mid October.
The Cariboo section leaves from the Shuswap area to Canim Lake. From Canim Lake to Horsefly, passing through the Cariboo Mountains. From Horsefly to Likely via the Ditch Road along the scenic Quesnel Lake. From Likely to Barkerville and Wells along Yanks Peak Road. Stunning scenery all the way along.
Horsefly is welcoming all “Gravel Travelers”. We have a lot to offer.
Have a stop over in one of our many great Accommodations opportunities. Take in the fantastic outdoors or enjoy dinner and a beer with your friends in the Local Neighbor hood pub.
