Horsefly Timber Kids worked 2 full days over the weekend and got 12 cords of firewood processed, delivered and stacked – on the following day (Monday) they worked with more children and filled up 75 sandbags for sale at the gas station as another fundraiser for the school. On both of these assignments, the work was tough and the wood and sandbags were heavy, but the kids worked hard and kept going till the jobs were done. No grumbling of any sort. Very focused. Horsefly School is very proud of them!
More orders for firewood have been received, which will be processed over the coming weekend. It is planned that the Timber Kids will do the firewood fundraiser again next year, probably starting earlier around September.
There are 64 students at Horsefly School right now. Proceeds from the fire wood sale and sand bag sale all go to fund the students’ field trips and learning equipment for the coming year.
